TC Practitioner Values:
The ‘why’ and the ‘how’
This event will be split over 2 separate Zoom seminars.
The first Zoom session will focus on the ‘TC Practitioner Competencies placing them within the wider TC Standards and giving opportunity to reflect on the model and how it might enhance practice. The second session will focus on the application processes and now and how the model might be integrated into other structures to both integrate it into practice and to evidence that process.
Facilitators
Peter Clarke
Peter Clarke has been a TCTC Board Member for over 10 years. Before moving into consultancy work in 2021 he had over 10 years of experience in a leadership role of an Accredited Therapeutic Community for teenagers.
Peter is Chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrist’s Accreditation Panel for the Community of Communities project supporting Enabling Environments and Therapeutic Communities.
Peter is a qualified social worker registered with the General Social Care Council and has a research based M.A. from the school of Social Work and Health Studies at the University of East Anglia and has published work on the application of the Therapeutic Community model to work in a forensic setting with young people who have harmed others.

Dr Kevin Gallagher
Kevin is a qualified social worker, psychodynamic
organisational consultant, strategic and operational manager
and PhD researcher.
He has worked in and around residential care and education since the late 90’s – initially for the local authority before moving into the independent sector. Starting as a residential carer, he progressed to managing homes, then regional clusters and ultimately holding both regional and national briefs for some well-known organisational names in residential care.
Since the 2010’s Kevin has provided organisational
consultancy to the sector on issues of service design, therapeutic model and system development, HR linked to the caring task and restructuring. Since 2015 Kevin has been Managing Director at Amberleigh Care, a specialist harmful sexual behaviour service which runs two fully accredited therapeutic communities.
