Birribi

Birribi is an innovative therapeutic residential care organisation for children, based in
Pembrokeshire and founded in 2014. Birribi has established 4 small children’s
homes and a central office base. Our community hub is based in Narberth. Birribi
also provides a fully registered independent school for children and young people
who are unable to access mainstream education. The education facilities include a
care farm offering a range of opportunities for outdoor learning, play and nature
therapy.

Birribi works in partnership with Youthinc – a social enterprise – which developed the
multi-systemic approach to therapy. We aim to improve the outcomes for children in
our care and use the Outcome Star to measure progress and to engage young
people in a hopeful future focus. The therapeutic approach, with integration of care,
therapy and education, is based in theories of childhood trauma, the development of
attachment relationships and social learning. Our core values embed the importance
of building positive relationships and social networks which include family, creating
therapeutic group homes – a sense of ‘place’ and safety – and supporting and
encouraging community living.
